The Drinking Water program includes watershed/source protection, groundwater, and public water supplies.
At the Salt Lake Valley Health Department we help protect the public drinking water systems by:
- Inspecting the all public water systems on a regular schedule to ensure safety.
- Collecting water samples from systems on a regular basis and analyzed for indicators of contamination.
- Investigating suspected waterborne illnesses and complaints from the public.
- Reviewing building plans to make sure that adequate drinking water is available.
- Enforcing Drinking Water Source Protection Ordinances.
The Salt Lake Valley Health Department strives to protect public drinking water supplies and ensure fluoride is added to the water through enforcement of
- Watershed - Health Regulation #14
- Individual Drinking Water Systems - Health Regulation # 11
- Subdivision Approval - Health Regulation #12
- Floridation - Health Regulation #33
- County Drinking Water Source Protection Ordinance.
