Talking To Your Teens About Sex
Salt Lake Valley Health Department will host two community educational forums designed to facilitate the important parent-teen conversation about sexual health.
Statewide, Chlamydia rates rose 150 percent and gonorrhea rates rose 122 percent between 1997 and 2007, according to the Utah Department of Health. The majority of new cases of Chlamydia (57 percent) were found in those ages 15-24 and 30 percent of those were under the age of 19.
The first educational forum will be held on Tuesday, May 18th from 7-9 pm at the Northwest Community Center (1300 West 300 North) in Rose Park. The second, Wednesday, October 20th from 6-8 pm at the Sorenson Unity Center (855 California Avenue) in Glendale.
